Love Ballon

On their fifth studio album, Love Balloon, Ocean Alley take their listeners on a journey through life and love in all its complexity, anchored by moments of light, vulnerability, and connection. After more than a decade together, the six-piece have evolved as six best mates. Their music now reflects both who they are and everything they’ve lived through. There are moments that feel expansive and hopeful, and others that are more introspective and raw. It’s not ignorant of our inner worlds or the world outside—it offers an escape from it.

Across its 10 tracks, Love Balloon wears its diverse influences with both reverence and originality, blending disco, funk, soul, and country into Ocean Alley’s signature sound. Working with legendary producer Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against the Machine, Powderfinger), the band embraced a stripped-back, more emotionally resonant approach. Each song was recorded with spontaneity and driven by instinct, with a rawness that marks a clear shift from their earlier, more layered and complex records.
