Sonny Side Up (Verve Vault Edition Vinyl)

This excellent sextet session by the great trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie (1917-93) was recorded for Verve in New York City on December 19, 1957 with Sonny Rollins (tenor sax); Sonny Stitt (tenor sax); Ray Bryant (piano); Tommy Bryant (bass) and Charli Persip (drums). Gillespie has a vocal on 'On The Sunny Side Of The Street'. The four memorable tracks feature three standards and a Stitt original.
Highlights include the 14-minute 'The Eternal Triangle' and the standard 'I Know That You Know'.
