Traces (Vinyl)
Loop are proud to present Traces, the first collaborative album from two of Aotearoa's most celebrated composers, Rhian Sheehan and Arli Liberman.
Rhian Sheehan has established himself as a multi-award-winning musician and screen composer over the past two decades and Arli Liberman has fast become one of NZâs most in-demand composers and musicians.
The album is an instrumental journey, blending electronic, ambient and post-rock soundscapes to create a unique sound.
Combining the atmospheric, Middle Eastern-influenced guitar playing and production skills of Arli Liberman with Rhian Sheehanâs haunting use of modular soundscapes and studio instruments.
Traces transports listeners into a dreamscape that feels both futuristic and nostalgic, distant and familiar â like a forgotten past or an undiscovered future â creating an immersive, yet intimate cinematic experience that unfolds like the soundtrack to an unmade film.
The album was written and recorded in Rhian and Arliâs home studios and at The Surgery in Wellington, with the engineering prowess of Lee Prebble, mixed by Simon Gooding (TEEKS), mastered in New York by Rafael Anton Irisarri (The Sight Below) and Tiki Taane with additional instrumentation by Riki Gooch (TrinityRoots) and Ed Zuccollo (Troy Kingi).
Traces is accompanied by a fully realised suite of artwork and video content, created by multimedia artist Sam Caldwell, whose âliquid lightâ visuals seamlessly complement the distinctive sonic world Rhian Sheehan and Arli Liberman have created.
